Album Release Show at the WISE Hall

I am thrilled to announce the Release Show for "Break Me Down," at the WISE Hall on Thursday, April 13th. This has been a long time coming, and it's hard to believe it's finally happening!

I will be joined by Kenton Loewen on drums (Dan Mangan & Blacksmith, Haram, Marin Patenaude), Wynston Minckler on bass (Emily Millard, Aerialists), Paul Pigat on electric guitar (Cousin Harley, Neko Case), and Nick Peck on piano, who will be filling in for Tyson Naylor. I have only played live with this band a handful of times, and I can't wait to reconnect with them onstage and make some amazing music.

Kenton Loewen will also be treating us to taste of his own dark, warm song writing. The Crackling is intimate and cutting. Romantic and bleak. I have been a huge fan of Kenton's song writing since I first saw him play with Dan Mangan in 2010. I was blown away by his emotional and dynamic range. From a whisper to a howl, his lyrical genius made an immediate mark on me. Having him share his songs as part of my album release is pretty much a dream come true.

To start the night off, Vi An Diep will captivate us with an ethereal and mesmerizing performance on the Vietnamese long-plucked zither, "dan tranh." Vi An is an extremely talented artist, who I've had the pleasure of getting to know over the past few years. Her music is an immersive experience for the audience, as it is free-form, spontaneously, intuitively improvised/composed in the moment. It sounds like nothing before, and is genuine just for the listeners in that moment.
